We understand from Kent Police that the attached scam letters impersonating the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy were delivered to firms in the Sandwich area telling them that, by law, they need to purchase air purifiers to comply with Covid-19 regulations.

We have been advised by Kent Police that this is a scam and any companies/organisations receiving any letter like this are asked to ignore them but to report any incidents to Action Fraud at www.actionfraud.police.uk or by calling 0300 123 2040.

Police Rural Crime Officers

There is now a rural crime officer on duty every day and a dedicated telephone number so that it is easier to make contact with the rural team for our area.


The officers for our area are Insp Dave Smith and 
Sgt Darren Walshaw

There is a national drive to co-ordinate work with all police forces affected by hare coursing.  Kent have adopted the National Operation name of 'OP Galileo'.
If you have cause to report any Hare Coursing activity please quote this operation name.



Our former parishioner, Nikki Mann, who was training for the priesthood while at Newchurch and who was more recently vicar of the Raddesley Group of Parishes in Cambridge, tragically passed away on 31 March 2021. 
There is a page set up for people to leave any thoughts, comments or memories of Nikki to celebrate her life and acknowledge how much she shone to everyone who she met and ministered to.

GB Governments have announced plans to lift poultry housing measures from 23:59 on 31 March. The Avian Influenza Prevention Zone mandatory biosecurity measures remain in place for all birds.
