A new website that highlights the district’s many groups, organisations and activities that support their local community is now live.

Spotlight, which is run by Folkestone & Hythe District Council’s communities team, aims to bring people together - linking them to the activities and services they are looking for and helping groups and organisations find new members.

To make it as comprehensive and helpful as possible, the council is calling for all groups, charities, community organisations, services and activities to add their details.

Listing is free and open to any non-for-profit group that provides a service to the community. All you need to do is to give details of your group or organisation and a brief description of the services or activities it provides.

Cllr Jenny Hollingsbee, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “We are fortunate to have many excellent groups and organisations across the district, offering everything from play sessions for toddlers to activities for older people.

“But it can be sometimes be hard for people to find out about these services, and that is where Spotlight comes in. It will put people looking for support, help, activities or hobbies in touch with those offering them.

“We hope to strengthen communities by linking people with the various groups and activities and providing all the information they need in one place.”
